A dream of light, the bright roads of the silk

My mother often confided me that her biggest dream, when she was a child, was to be able to penetrate into her cold room in the evening with the light which precedes her. 

She knew, neither the electricity, nor the electric light. She had been born in 1915 to Penmarc' h in Brittany, in France, in the country Bigouden headdress, and spoke Breton before speaking French. Primary school teacher, her taught French and calculation any youngs. Professor of the National Education then, she contributed to allow France to bring out horrors of the first two world wars.

A century after her birth, I have in my tour another dream. 

When we look at our beautiful Earth, at night, seen by the sky, I would wish I could contemplate a continuous link of soft and warm light, throughout the Mediterranean region. 

And that this link of light would be a link of peace, cooperation and human development between all the waterside countries of the Mediterranean Sea. 

Technically, it is completely possible from now on. Half is already interconnected, from Turkey to Tunisia, via European countries and a submarine connection in the Strait of Gibraltar. So, from today, the electric heart beats with the same frequency of 50 Hz in a synchronous way, for more than 500 million inhabitants, from Tunis to Ankara, via Madrid, Paris, Rome, Athens and others. The distribution of the energy between the places of production and those of use is made at the speed of light throughout electricity networks interconnected between them on thousands of kilometers. 

Only, to buckle the electric interconnection on all the seaside the Mediterranean Sea, the first prerequisite is that the durable peace is established in every country. In Palestine, in Libya, in Syria, in Egypt, in Israel, in the Lebanon and remain there in the other ……..

It is also required that in every country, a strong State, holding the general interest and taking into consideration the long term, and in a democratic basis and of popular membership the widest possible in the absence of whom it would have no legitimacy as State, promotes in a long-term prospect, an education and a human development associated with this light. 

Because "science without consciousness is only ruin of the soul" told us Rabelais. And without powers and opposite powers, it is the grinding of the man, in an alliance always possible of an extreme radicalism and a hegemonic totalitarianism, using all the possible levers, to begin with the lie, the corruption, the crime and the war propaganda. The zero risk does not exist.

Our cultural cradle is the Mediterranean Sea, with the first cities, the first writings, the first calculations, the first philosophies and the spiritualities, the first infrastructures of general interest, the first awarenesses of the good to be and of the common heritage. 

In this well-being and common heritage, the shared confidence is a fundamental component. Confidence that it is possible to live together in the peace, the mutual respect and love of others, in the freedom of thought and religion of each. But the shared confidence, it is also the support by each of this confidence, in its own living space and of action with the others.

The education, fed by the collective heritage which made our common story, and by alive spiritualities in each, becomes us aware and guides us to develop our individual and collective capacity to contribute to this shared confidence. To maintain it and to develop it, in the respect for life and the personal and collective freedoms. To give it the necessary vitality to keep alive our democracy. 

The education, developed  at first by the host family of the child, but also by the school, the society,  the media, the members of a religious order, the intellectuals, the artists, the business men, the representatives elected by employees, the researchers, the leaders, of associations, companies and public services, the elected representatives…..

The marker of the triumph of the civilization of love against the inhumanity of the radicalism and the totalitarianism will be this sustainable link of light, in the peace, between the men, along the Mediterranean Sea. 

And once the established light everything around Méditerranean Sea, we shall join, as we already make it by internet, but this time in full power of light and in confidence, in the cooperation and the peace, all Africa, Russia, China, India, Japan, and all Asia.

Then America, Oceania, the Whole world before moving us towards the space where new adventures and discoveries wait for us. 

They will be the new bright roads of the silk !

Let us not forget in Europe and in all the Mediterranean Basin that our indo European culture comes from India, and that the first men came from Africa! 

Place to peace architects and to weavers of light! 

But it is only a dream ???
